The
Diocesan Library of Majorca is heiress of the secular tradition of the
Majorcan Church at service to the culture. The newness is that they have
met in the same documentary center most of the bibliographical patrimony of
the diocese, with the possibilities that the computerization of book's
registries offers.
The users
will be able to accede to the bottoms of the library only with the limits that
impose the most elementary norms of control and security, that despite, are
common in all libraries.
Logotype
of the library, designed by Jaume Falconer, reflects its objectives:
- To promote the study of all
sciences (the Trivium and the Quadrivium);
- To contribute to the
consolidation of the own culture of Majorca (the four vertical sticks are the
four bars of the flag), following the mastery of Ramon Llull (the moon);
- To open to new routes of
dialogue between the Christian faith and the present culture, because the
Christians we believe in Jesus Christ as the lasting knowledge in human
history (the alpha and the Omega).
All the
personnel of the library is at your service. If you wish to embark in the
exciting trip "of finding the truth", like the "Mestre
Ramon", you'll be welcome in the Diocesan Library of Majorca.
